GOVERNMENT has set aside $200,000 to establish a secretariat within the Ministry of Economy in the hope of harnessing climate funds from the global community.
Attorney-General and Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said once set up, the secretariat would open its doors to assisting Pacific Island countries.
He said Fiji was fortunate to have the assistance of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in its endeavour.
