New Zealand is committed to assisting developing countries adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. Rather than treat environment (and climate change) as a discrete issue or set of activities, the New Zealand MFAT approach is to integrate environment and climate change as a cross-cutting issue across all activities. We believe this is the most effective way to manage environment and climate change risks and maximise opportunities, and therefore look to design projects and programmes where environment has a benefit.
