CONSERVATION and agriculture officers from around the country were reminded of the valuable knowledge and the importance of the land care concept.

While addressing officers at the closing of a workshop at Nadave in Tailevu on Friday, Ministry of iTaukei Affairs permanent secretary Naipote Katonitabua said there was a need to gain knowledge about land care concept and the importance of partnership at all levels in the sustainable management of our natural resource.

"More than 70 per cent of our land is non-arable land and 87.9 per cent of our lands are natively-owned, which brings us to the crucial issue of sustainable management of our land resources," he said.
