Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is going to New York next month for the formal ratification of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. He will be taking a strong message, a message underscored by the devastation caused by Cyclone Winstone.
Let’s hope those gathered at the United Nations will also get the message.
As the Prime Minister said in Suva this week: “As well as keeping global temperatures down, we need the industrialised countries to face up to their responsibilities to nations such as Fiji. It isn’t enough for them to reduce the carbon emissions that have produced this crisis in the first place.
