A national approach to managing climate change in the Cook Islands

Report describing the Joint National Disaster Risk Management and climate change Adaptation Plan (JNAP) produced by the Cook Islands Government in response to climate change, increased risks of extreme weather events and natural disasters.  This 4-page project overview is intended for decision-makers across the Pacific with an interest in policy, planning and climate change governance.

The Australian Government's Pacific Adaptation Strategy Assistance Program (PASAP) helped to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Cook Islands to plan for the impacts of climate change. PASAP assisted 15 partner countries to assess their vulnerability to climate change and incorporate adaptive measures into planning and development.
