The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (herein referred to as “SPREP”) makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the website or the information, tools, products, services, or related graphics (herein referred to as “content”) contained on the website for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.

Some content provided by the Pacific Climate Change Portal (herein referred to as the “PCCP”) is supplied to SPREP by external content owners and managers. SPREP presents this content “as is” without comment or change. SPREP encourages content providers to provide good quality information and to maintain information currency.

In no event will SPREP be liable for any loss or damage including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of this website.

Through the PCCP you are able to link to other websites which are not under the control of SPREP. SPREP does not accept responsibility for or endorse the content or condition of any linked site.

When accessing information stored on the PCCP you must comply with these terms of use and with all applicable laws. You must not use the PCCP for malicious or fraudulent purposes.


Copyright in the website is owned by SPREP.

Third parties own the copyright in much of the content provided by this website, and permission may be required from these parties to use such content over and above what is permitted by copyright law (for example if you wish to republish, redistribute, commercialise or incorporate content that is protected by copyright law).

In the course of providing content for storage on the PCCP, a registered content provider asserts that s/he has the right to make the content available to SPREP and to end users, and agrees to comply with all applicable laws. SPREP may suspend or terminate use of or access to content stored on the PCCP and is not obliged to give any period of notice or reasons for that suspension or termination. 

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy outlines how the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (herein referred to as “SPREP”) manages your personal information that is collected when you use the Pacific Climate Change Portal (herein referred to as the “PCCP”).

If you are registered to add content to the PCCP, then SPREP will store your full name and email address within the PCCP. This information is essential for SPREP to ensure that you are a bona fide contributor. SPREP assures you that the information provided by you shall only be used for bona fide purposes, and it shall not be commercialized or otherwise made available to any database service provider.

If you are merely visiting the website and not registered as a contributor, then the PCCP will not solicit or collect any personal information. As a standard protocol, your Internet Protocol (IP) address may be noted automatically on our registry.

To facilitate SPREP to constantly improve services and understand the needs of users, SPREP may use standard analytics software on the PCCP website that enables tracking of information about your IP address, the time of access, browser type, navigation through site, pages visited and documents downloaded. Any such data collected will be used on an anonymous basis.

Additional information may also be collected through the use of cookies.  A cookie is a small piece of information that is sent to your device browser from a website’s server, and is stored on your device’s hard drive. Cookies record information about your online preferences in order to provide you with a better user experience. Information collected through the use of cookies will be used internally only for website traffic analysis.

Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information

You may request SPREP to provide you with access to your Personal Information that is stored within the PCCP.  If the Personal Information that SPREP holds about you is inaccurate, SPREP will comply with all requests by you to update such information.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

SPREP reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time – however you will always be notified of such changes before they occur.
